Is it time to talk?

What is Time to Talk Day?

Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation - and we wanted to make sure that the conversation is taking place here at Shropdoc.

The day, which launched in 2014, encourages workplaces to come together to talk, listen and change lives and took place on February 6th, 2025.

The day is run each year by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, in partnership with Co-op and delivered by See Me with SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health), Inspire and Time to Change Wales

It aims to ensure everyone feels comfortable talking about mental health - and this is something we would really like to enforce.

How did Shropdoc get involved?

As an organisation, we encourage our teams to talk and support each other all year round. Our Shropdoc values include community, kindness and development - and none of these values are being upheld if we do not talk to each other.

On Time to Talk Day 2025, we put Time to Talk branding around the Shropdoc offices to grab attention and get people thinking about how important it is to talk - and listen - to the people around you.

We also issued bingo sheets to the workforce, encouraging everyone to tick off as many bingo boxes as possible.

Some of the tasks were:

  • Share ‘It’s Time to Talk Day. Let’s get comfortable and have a chat about mental health’ in a group chat.

  • Call or message someone you think may need to talk

  • Direct message a friend and ask them about their day

  • Share something you have learnt about mental health with colleagues

How can we respond to conversations about mental health?

If someone opens up about their mental health to you it doesn’t have to be awkward - just being there for someone can make a big difference. If someone does confide in you the advice is to listen, use positive body language and encouragement if needed. They are not asking you to fix it - talking can be really powerful.
