Fundraising for Mission Christmas

Nurse practitioner Rachael Beach is quite the baker - and during December, she got her cook on to help raise funds and ensure dozens of children woke to a present on Christmas morning.

Rachael brought a variety of home-baked cakes and biscuits into Shropdoc’s Shrewsbury base at Longbow Close - cheesecakes, shortbreads, cupcakes and vegan and gluten-free options too.

Mission Christmas

Rachael’s aim was to raise funds for the Mission Christmas initiative, run by the charity Cash For Kids, which supports children and young people affected by poverty, abuse, neglect, life-limiting illness and those with additional needs.

The Mission Christmas initiative was launched to make sure that as many children as possible woke to a present on Christmas morning, and Shropdoc staff were so pleased to be able to support Rachael and Mission Christmas!

Toys for Christmas

Staff were able to choose their favourite treat to go with a morning coffee or an afternoon tea in return for a donation, and Rachael raised £100 - which she used to buy nearly two trolleys full of toys for Mission Christmas.

“Well done, Rachael, for the amazing fundraising total and demonstrating our Shropdoc values of kindness and community!”

Kindness and Community

Mission Christmas asked for people to drop off gifts, make donations, take part in festive fundraising and more.

The charity revealed that its total was £15,420,506, meaning Santa could visit 306,996 children across the UK.
