A blossoming culture of appreciation

In a busy workplace, small acts of kindness can sometimes go unnoticed - which is why Shropdoc has introduced ‘The Kindness Tree’ - a living, digital space where our team can celebrate the acts of kindness they see and experience.

Staff can acknowledge individuals or departments for Kindness recognition via the internal Shropdoc hub and, once a nomination has been approved, it will appear on the tree for all to see and read.

Those acknowledged will be congratulated, and their manager will be notified.

A tree for all seasons

The tree will evolve through the year, with nominations appearing as blossom in spring, green leaves in Summer, an Autumnal leaf in Autumn and a bauble at Christmas.

The Kindness Tree will be permanently located in the HR Zone on the Shropdoc Hub, which is accessible to all staff across all sites, and acknowledgements will also be regularly shared via an internal newsletter.

Whether it is helping a colleague with a project, offering support at a challenging time or spreading positivity, all acknowledgements are encouraged to boost morale, encourage teamwork and foster a sense of community.

Why kindness matters in the workplace

Kindness creates a positive, inclusive environment that benefits both individuals and an organisation as a whole. 

A kind environment makes it easier to collaborate and work effectively as a team. When people feel supported and valued, they’re more likely to share ideas, ask for help, and offer assistance to others.

Feeling valued is a powerful motivator. Acts of kindness - whether a thank-you note or a small gesture - go a long way in building morale, and that is something that is very important to us here at Shropdoc.
